December 26, 2010: christmas dream 2008
'Unnamed' was keeping our Little Peanut from coming over on xmas day, despite the fact that last year we shared with her, and after mas brunch had sent her back to 'Unnamed'. This was slightly fucking with me, and as a result I had a dream. In the dream we were playing in the backyard of a house on the end of a culdesac. It was 'us' and a few extra kids, a girl and a boy. We were just hanging out, and playing ball in the snow, xmas dinner was underway when a station wagon pulled up into the culdesac. 'Unnamed' got out of the car and took little peanut from us...grabbed her, and carried her back to the car! Behind the wheel was that sorry loser boyfriend of her mother's and the mother herself was in the passenger seat. The horror! We followed her to the car, our mouths agape with incomprehension. Some words may have been exchanged, but I don't recall exactly. As they stared at all of us staring back at them, I reached down and grabbed some gravel from the driveway, and threw it at the car. I was feeling incredibly hostile, and feeling like this was a grand injustice, and what did we do to deserve it? My skimpy little pile of gravel barely scratched the surface of my anger at her. The station wagon backed away, and I realized that she had just left these two other kids abandoned in the culdesac. I marched over to them, and stuck my hand out. "Hi there, what is your name?" I said to the little blond girl and her little brother. I realized that these two abandoned kids needed some xmas attention, and that I had better channel my energy onto them, as they really needed it.
